Bolivarian Government thanks Cuba for condemning the US announcement of the closure of Venezuelan airspace

The Bolivarian Government and the people of Venezuela thank Cuba for its condemnation of the recent announcement by the United States about the closure of Venezuelan airspace.

“His Excellency Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, I would like to express our deepest gratitude on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro for his strong condemnation of the recent announcement by the United States government about the closure of Venezuelan airspace. An interventionist measure that not only threatens the peace and security of our country, but also constitutes a direct attack on the stability of all of Latin America and the Caribbean,” said the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil on his Telegram channel.

Gil stressed that the Cuban Foreign Minister's call to the international community to unite in the rejection of this illegitimate act is a crucial step in the fight for the defense of our sovereign rights.

In a statement released on social networks, the Cuban foreign minister described the U.S. measure as an aggressive, illegal act and contrary to international law, also warning that no State has the authority to impose decisions outside its sovereign borders.

Cuba also urged the international community to reject what it considers to be a prelude to an illegitimate attack with potential consequences for regional peace and stability.
