Some 80 representatives of the Association of Bolivarian Rectors (ARBOL) met to discuss the proposals and strengthen the National Plan for Science, Technology and Innovation 2025-2055.
According to a note from the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), the activity took place at the Ministry for Science and Technology (MINCYT) with the participation of the minister for the sector, Gabriela Jiménez.
“The Science Plan is for the whole country and universities must take their lead in this science plan, because the first objective of our Science Plan and the Great Science Mission is to preserve the reserve of talent, boy, girl, man, woman, Venezuelan, in the sciences, in all,” said Jiménez, while stressing that universities are important in the development of science in Venezuela.
Jiménez invited the rectors to join the national call for the award of postgraduate training grants.
This call, which will run until November 28, was made by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
The minister explained that 1,300 scholarships have been awarded in a first call and more than 36.8% are from universities.
In this regard, he called on the universities that make up ARBOL to publicize their postgraduate programs.
