The public transport sector in the city of La Paz, Bolivia celebrates its second consecutive day of stoppage of activities. The pressure measure, which has paralyzed much of the traffic flow at the government headquarters, is due to the growing concern of operators about the quality of gasoline distributed in the country.

This Thursday, the central axis of the mobilization is the complaint about the sale of allegedly adulterated fuel. According to industry leaders and operators, the use of this fuel is causing severe mechanical damage and premature deterioration of the engines of their work tools.

“This isn't just a claim for the price, but for the integrity of our vehicles. We are receiving fuel that is destroying our families' investment,” said representatives of the union during the mobilizations.

So far, transport groups have stated that the continuity of pressure measures will depend on the official response and the opening of a technical dialogue table to address the problem of gasoline.
