In the framework of the XI Extraordinary Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America — Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), the president of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Luis Arce, rejected U.S. interference in the internal affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, specifically those concerning election results.

During his speech, Arce highlighted the importance of this meeting, because “Latin America and the Caribbean is a scene of dispute between those of us who love freedom and independence for all and between those who want to maintain it, mechanisms of domination.”

With regard to the presidential elections held on July 28 in Venezuelan territory, he indicated that “in recent months, a campaign of disinformation and discrediting against the government of President Nicolás Maduro has been unleashed against the government of President Nicolás Maduro, which endangers the peace and stability of its people. These activities intensified in the context of the presidential elections with the installation of hate speech and a false narrative of electoral fraud promoted by some sectors of the opposition with the intention of reversing the will of the majority of the people who were at the polls.”

In this sense, he rejected that “imperialism” insists on making Venezuela “its backyard, which is why the Plurinational State of Bolivia rejects any attempt at destabilization that could affect the peace and development of the Venezuelan people, as well as of any of the States of our Alliance; violence cannot become a political practice in our region and much less supplant the Popular Will expressed on election day”.

“Bolivia congratulates and respects the will of the Venezuelan people (...) we also congratulate President Nicolás Maduro, we are sure that the wisdom of his people and his wise leadership will bring days of peace and well-being for the sister Republic of Venezuela,” he said.

He pointed out that the fascist threat is a reality, so it is necessary to ratify “our support for this mechanism of political dissertation, based on the principles of solidarity, social justice, cooperation and economic complementarity that have promoted the development of our Peoples.”

He indicated that the “Latin American and Caribbean integration, which allows us to face together the pretensions of domination, imperialist hegemony and the growing threats to peace and regional stability”, in particular, he assured that “it is essential to work on the phase of our differences, promoting unity in diversity and respecting the right of peoples to self-determination, to their territorial integrity, to peacefully resolve their disputes and with the institutions established for them, and not to suffer interference in internal affairs and respect for the sovereignty of each State”.
