Boxers Youli Mena, Genesis Palma and Alfonzo Blanco take bronze at the Central American Games

Boxer Youli Mena won the bronze medal in the women's 65-kilogram category during the twenty-fifth edition of the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games.
Mena climbed to the third step of the podium after stumbling against Mexico's Darianne Hernández in the semifinals.
For his part, the boxer Alfonso Blanco won the bronze in the men's 90 kg, after falling in the semifinals against the Haitian Carly Pierre.
Meanwhile, Genesis Palma struggled with hierarchy in the ring to win the bronze medal in the 70 kg women's category. In the semifinals, she fell to Cuba's Dayira Mesa.
