This Tuesday, in an unprecedented milestone for the region's aerospace industry, the first F-39E Gripen supersonic fighter manufactured entirely on Brazilian soil was officially unveiled. The event, held at the Embraer Gavião Peixoto Airfield, in the state of São Paulo, marks the beginning of a new era of technological autonomy and strategic defense.

The event was attended by the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who accompanied the exhibition of the aircraft together with senior military officers and representatives of the industrial sector. Although the president did not give a speech during the official ceremony, he described the event through his social networks as a “historic moment”, underlining Brazil's potential to lead projects of high technical complexity in the continent.

The production of this fighter is the result of an ambitious technology transfer program between the Swedish company Saab and the Brazilian company Embraer. This collaboration has not only allowed the assembly of the aircraft, but also the training of local engineers and the strengthening of the national supply chain, consolidating Brazil as the only country in Latin America capable of manufacturing next-generation combat aircraft.

Finally, the implementation of this project reinforces the nation's strategic vision of defense, aimed at protecting sovereignty and boosting the industrial economy. With the addition of the F-39E Gripen to its fleet, the Brazilian Air Force is taking a qualitative leap in its operational capabilities, positioning the country as a global leader in supersonic aeronautical manufacturing.
