The Secretary General of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, recalled that the momentous victory of Commander Hugo Chávez, on Sunday, October 7, 2012, in the presidential elections of Venezuela for the period 2013-2019, re-elected for a fourth consecutive term.

“It was a sustained effort, in the midst of a campaign marked by Commander Chávez's pain, by his illness, sometimes trying to go unnoticed, because of his courage to take up the challenge. With his stubbornness not to go to be treated and he preferred to be there in front,” he emphasized during his Con El Mazo Dando program, on broadcast number 546.

In that sense, he stated that this triumph “was marked by that closing of the campaign on October 4, an extraordinary thing from every point of view, from the human point of view, the political, the ideological, the love for a project. An Overwhelmed Town”.

Commander Chávez was aware that perhaps this was going to be his last speech there on Bolivar Avenue. He assumed it that way, it was a very rough, very hard day. That day he had terrible pain,” he said.

Cabello said that he will always remember that day “as a marker, at any time and circumstance that someone feels half beaten, remember Chávez on October 4. The pain they had was terrible, I tell them. I guarantee it to him and he walked out.”
