During an event to mark the 5th anniversary of the failed coup d'etat of April 30, 2019, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, assured that Cristopher Figuera was always a coward.

“That day some people called the traitor Major Cristopher Figuera, but he had already left, he left before the operation, all his life he was a coward, and on February 4, in the midst of rebellion, he hid,” Cabello Rondón recalled.

He also stated that Cristopher Figuera went to establish an alliance with the Venezuelan bourgeoisie, “it's sad to see someone, who comes from the people, put themselves in charge of their last names, so that they can achieve, through force, what they have not been able to through votes.”

Cabello said that most of the soldiers who arrived there were because they were told that they were going to transfer some detainees, and they put a blue bracelet on them.

“We arrived with a tricolor, because we have it in our soul and in our heart. While those who directed the betrayal fled, they are very big cowards, they don't deserve the forgiveness of those who were with them,” he said.
