The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, assured that the Bolivarian Government has no relationship with any Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), in relation to the releases granted in the country.
In the usual press conference of the red awning, he explained that since before the month of December, 808 people who committed crimes in the country have been released from prison and after a thorough review they have been released.
“There is no list, we are not linked to any NGO that only seeks to defraud the families of the detainees. There is no list. Here we are only complying with the instruction of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, which has been ratified by the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez,” he said.
He added that “they go around like crazy saying that there are lists. That doesn't exist, here there is no list proposed by NGOs, but they still want to charge family members (...) They are gangsters and extortionists, we don't meet with any NGO”.
He added that a review of cases is being carried out and those related to drugs, homicide and pedophilia have no possibility of benefit. “We don't consult anything with any NGO, but they come to the counterattack to try to position themselves and say that they are achieving their releases,” he concluded.
