The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, explained that the red curtain at the time appointed a responsible person to the National Electoral Council (CNE), “that's what all parties do”, referring to the process of registering candidates for the upcoming Presidential Elections.
In this sense, as an example, he mentioned that Henrique Capriles always appointed Juan Carlos Caldera to the CNE, “one corrupt appointed another corrupt”.
“We have a person, he is the only one who has access to the registration key, that's right, no one else has access,” he said.
For that reason, Cabello commented that the action from the Campaign Command of some aspiring opponents, who claim that they would not let them register their candidacy, “none of them had the key.”
“It was pure screen, put on the picture. He is the one authorized to register (who does this procedure),” he said.
Cabello reiterated that all political parties have a leader, “it's not that they're going to send someone to see if they can. No, no, the CNE is a serious body.”
