The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello stressed this Wednesday in his Con El Mazo Dando program that “whoever dares to set foot in Venezuela is going to face the fury of a people who have never given up in more than 500 years and we don't say this out of arrogance, but out of conviction.”
Cabello read a text by Pablo Morillo (a Spanish soldier known as “The Peacekeeper”) sent to His Majesty around the year 1815, when he tried to reconquer South America for the Spanish Crown and who recounts the situation in America (Indies). The text mentions that the Venezuelan does not want to be commanded by foreigners and only obeys the king until he finds another opportunity. “What is good for the kingdom of Santa Fe is not good for Venezuela,” Morillo said in that letter.
After the reading, the general secretary of the PSUV said that today “nothing has changed (...) for those who want to invade us, we tell them that, just as they came to say and believe that our original peoples were cannibals, yes, we are going to eat them alive if we intend to enter”, he ironized.
He pointed out that “we don't threaten, nor do we mess with anyone, we're peaceful, but we've said it many times, it's probably easy to get in, the problem is going to be getting out. Don't say we're not warning you, there are no rules here once someone sets foot in Venezuela, Our People have the conscience to move forward and we know that we're right.”
