Cabello: It is forbidden to campaign and pressure the bases to apply candidates (+article)

The general secretary of the United
Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reported that
a new article has been included in the statutes of the red awning to
give even more weight to the opinion of the rank and file, regarding the nomination of
candidates for the elections of May 25.
In that sense, he read the article,
which was as follows: “It is strictly forbidden to campaign,
promote names, promote yourself or a colleague or colleague, pressure middle or grassroots
structures, as well as using government structures,
institutions in the application process for any of the positions that
correspond to the election of May 25, 2025.”
He also pointed out that, according to the article, it
will be “considered a negative criterion and a very serious offence to commit these irresponsible
actions”; for this reason, he pointed out that the National Directorate of
the PSUV and the Political High Command reserve the power to decide “on the cases of
those who commit such serious indiscipline and may result in the suspension of membership and/or
the sanction of not being considered for nomination as a candidate to any of the
charges”.
He emphasized that these actions are taken in the face of some justified
criticism and in the face of the campaign they seek to promote to cause noise
on this issue.
“To comply with the regulations and
to comply with the unitary spirit, we will apply this article,”
he said and pointed out that these days those who have been playing a leading position
have been called to chapter.
“The conclusion today, in the voice of our brother Jorge (Rodríguez), is that if you don't want to be a candidate, advertise, if you want to guarantee that you are not going to be elected, campaign, that you will not be selected, campaign and play a leading position that we will please you and you will not be a candidate for anything,” he said and specified that for these actions there is already a person suspended until he gives up his personal attitude for engaging in these actions.
