The sectoral vice-president for policy, citizen security and peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, urged Venezuelans to fill themselves with that indomitable strength of the original peoples who fought for the sovereignty of these lands 532 years ago against the invasion of the Spanish Empire.

“Let us be charged with that spirit, with that indomitable strength of our original peoples, with simplicity and humility, but also with the very high dignity of our Peoples,” Cabello asked during an event commemorating the Day of Indigenous Resistance from the National Pantheon.

He highlighted the courage with which men and women fervently defended the sacred soil of the Fatherland against an empire that was defeated and driven out of America.

“Let us be proud to carry in our blood, the blood of the warriors of our country. Honor and glory to them,” he emphasized.

He emphasized that it was Commander Hugo Chávez who vindicated the original peoples and gave them the true historical meaning of the struggles of our indigenous people by opening the eyes of many and making them understand that what happened in America was not a discovery but a most brutal massacre in the entire history of humanity.

“With Chávez telling our story, Bolívar came out of the statues to ride and ride with his people. 532 years later when decadent imperialism claims genocide, 532 years later we vindicate the courage of the original peoples not only of the country but of all of America,” he said.
