Cabello on alleged blocking of news portals: They don't pay their suppliers and want to blame the State

The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, denied that the Bolivarian Government maintained any kind of restriction on various informational web portals.

“Those websites have continued to open, the thing is that there are a lot of people who don't pay providers. Whoever has a page has to pay the suppliers, because they are the ones who have them cut off for non-payment and then they want to blame the State,” Cabello said during the usual weekly press conference on the red awning.

Cabello also recalled how, at the time of the Fourth Republic, the media called themselves the “Fourth Power” and ruled the country. In this regard, he recalled how in 1993 the media announced Rafael Caldera as the winner of the elections even though the winner was Andrés Velásquez.

“From a television channel, a famous animator of the time stood up and said the results are these and the Supreme Electoral Council came out to change the results while Andrés Velásquez was satisfied with the talk they gave him,” he recalled.

“Nowadays all of us here are communicators and we are pure energy,” he said.
