This Friday, February 21, the sectoral vice president for Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, recalled that the 177 compatriots who arrived in Venezuela came from the U.S. detention center in Guantánamo, where Human Rights are not respected.
“'They took us out of hell', is an expression that they generally express, because they were surrounded by uncertainty, because they are boys who had been there for 3 or 4 years without any crime, just because they had moved to the United States (...) and they were sent to Guantánamo, a prison where human rights don't exist at all,” Cabello said during his radio program Sin Truco Ni Maña.
In this regard, Cabello specified the compatriots who returned to Venezuela, the first thing they feel when they arrive is “respect for human rights, respect for life, decent treatment accompanied by respect, even affection”. At the same time, he specified that everyone was given the required comprehensive care.
In addition, he noted that of the returnees, only 38 have a police record and only one has a red alert from Interpol for having committed a crime in Ecuador.
“Most of them for minor crimes, there were none linked to the Aragua Train (...) There is only one requested by Interpol because Ecuador requests it, since he is Venezuelan he has to be judged by Venezuelan laws here and we are going to ask Ecuador to send all the file they have against this person, but in truth we did not find anyone with what they said they had sent the Aragua Train there,” he said, denouncing the narrative they have against Venezuela about links with that criminal group.
On the other hand, he referred to the demagoguery of United States presidents who have promised during their term of office to end Guantánamo, such as Barack Obama, who sold himself as a “cool” guy and bombed a large number of countries.
