The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, said on Monday that cryptocurrency mining is completely banned in the country, within the framework of energy savings due to the Super Child climate emergency.

During the weekly press conference of the red awning, Cabello highlighted that the State has taken decisions to stabilize the distribution of electrical charge in all states of the country.

“That was a battle that we did with these people who have machines to mine cryptocurrency,” he said, stressing that these people consume. No, we are not doing anything wrong “the electricity that all Venezuelans need”.

He said that paying for electricity in Venezuela is extremely cheap and “they take advantage of that to assemble their equipment. No, that's forbidden. At this time it is totally prohibited. And the people themselves report,” he emphasized.
