The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of
Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, said Monday that the leaders of
the extremist opposition are not interested in the presidential electoral process and see
it as a business.
At the weekly press conference on the red awning, Cabello
indicated that “those who don't believe in elections, those who don't
believe in elections, those who don't believe that the thing is electoral but through
the assassination of President Nicolás Maduro”, as well as “those who believe
that the path is through a coup d'etat, through the invasion of another country”.
He added that “those who go outside of
Venezuela to talk nonsense about their own country should be left out (...) I think they are not
interested in the presidency, they are interested in the business behind being a
candidate, that they are wanting to be leaders of the opposition to be the
ones who receive the money that comes from outside and it's big business.”
In this regard, he recalled that all those who participated in
Juan Guaidó's fictional internship “live abroad like kings and
queens with the money that was stolen (...) they are rascals and rascals. So that
business is so lucrative that you don't do anything and you get paid,” he criticized.
