Cabello on indigenous choices: We respect the methods that native peoples have decided

The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, confirmed on Monday the support of the revolutionary forces for the methods of indigenous peoples to elect their authorities, when he announced the indigenous elections on June 1.

During the usual weekly press conference of the red awning, Cabello explained that next Sunday the country's indigenous communities will celebrate the election of deputies to the National Assembly and regional legislators.

“They have their methods. We respect the methods that the original peoples have decided and not only do we respect them, but we support them and raise both hands to be with them in that choice. Nobody should get in there,” said the revolutionary leader.

He recalled that the indigenous people were vindicated by Commander Hugo Chávez and the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela of 1999. “Let's remember the times before this Constitution. What was it like here with the original peoples?” , he questioned.
