This Wednesday, June 25, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, described as “stupid” the statements made by the extreme right wing María Corina Machado in relation to Iran to request a bombing of the Homeland.
“Some here were in an uproar, La Sayona asked that they invade Venezuela and bomb it; then they went out to do damage control (...) it's a stupid thing to ask that their own people be bombed,” he said during his Con El Mazo Dando No. 532 program.
In that sense, he questioned who the advisors of the extreme right are. In turn, he added that these answers may also come “from moments of depression and exaltation of spirits for different causes, but the truth is that they called for an invasion against Venezuela and they began to say there in their madness that after Iran came Venezuela”.
He assured that in the face of these actions, the Venezuelan people are always ready to defend the Homeland. “What we are, is ready to defend ourselves against anyone, whenever and however,” he said.
