Cabello: Our People praise, proclaim and defend the Homeland

The Vice President of Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, highlighted the importance of the Venezuelan people in the defense of the Homeland.

“Our People exalt and not only exalt but proclaim, and not only proclaim but also defend the peace, the tranquility of this country. Today Venezuela, on the way to Christmas, is calm,” he said, during the activation of the Integral Defense Management Body (ODDI) in Miranda state.

He highlighted the importance of the place where the Metro station, the Pérez de León Hospital and several urban transport lines converge. He pointed out that this space articulates the participation of motorized persons, social movements and basic organizational structures in the activation of the ODDI.

“We have to review the issue of motorized companions, of social movements, of the popular organization downstream, of all the social structures that have publicly and openly expressed their willingness to defend the Homeland,” he said.

Cabello reiterated that the Venezuelan people remain firm in their defense of peace, in the face of sectors that he described as minority and violent. “They are very small. They said over there, for our people: a little chinguita; a very small space, the violent ones, fascism disguised as whatever you want to disguise, but it's the same fascism,” he said.

In his speech, he recalled recent events, such as the attempted coup d'etat of April 30, 2019, the burning of institutions and people, and the failed armed incursions. “They are the same people who tried and paid mercenaries to invade Venezuela, not once or twice, several times. Let's remember February 23, let's remember May 2,” he said.
