This Wednesday, November 13, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stated that the best tribute that can be paid to the memory of the worker Franklin Álvarez Silva “is to do the Con El Mazo Dando program.”
“We should have started earlier, but hey, there are things and facts that suddenly paralyze us,” he said at the start of his Con El Mazo Dando program, broadcast number 503, when explaining the reason for the space delay.
In this regard, he explained that in the midst of setting up the Mazo stage, an accident occurred, causing the death of comrade Franklin Álvarez Silva, from the Valles del Tuy, Cúa, from Miranda state, who was part of the space's technical sound team.
“Our worker, I was setting up the program, we were doing it somewhere else in the Municipal Theater, so we entered the juncture of doing or not doing the program,” he said.
Faced with the initiative to carry out the program despite the fact, the audience offered their support with a river of applause in homage to Álvarez Silva.
“I'm sure Franklin is here in the front row with us,” he said.
Cabello said that “after thinking about it a little, we thought it was the best thing for him and for his co-workers. This is what our Commander Hugo Chávez taught us, to get up from the toughest pain.”
He commented that God would protect him, but that if something happened to a person, “I wouldn't want them to stop making a revolution because something happened to you or they stopped doing the Gavel. Someone will grab the program.”
He also thanked the audience and the television audience for waiting for the start of the Mazo, whose set was moved to another space.
