The Sectorial Vice President for Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, assured that Petare did not protest again because Wilexis Acevedo, the partner of the Venezuelan extreme right, is no longer there.

“We are against any type of gang, of terrorism, of drug trafficking, of political violence, because they are using criminals to protest, to generate pockets of violence,” he said during a press conference, in which he released a balance of the results of the actions taken by the Venezuelan State to prevent acts of violence, before, during and after the elections of last May 25.

Cabello Rondón reiterated that what they (extreme right) intended to do here in Venezuela is very serious. “Placing explosives in hospitals, throwing grenades at voting centers,” he said.

In that regard, he argued that the extreme right continues to insist on violence as a way to seize power. “ We are obliged to respond very firmly and in this case we don't care at all what your friends in the world say, we are going to guarantee the peace of this country,” he said.
