The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, recommended reading the article published by the news agency Russia Today (RT) in which they interview the former Deputy Secretary of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Pino Arlacchi, in which he confirms that the Bolivarian government's link with drug cartels is non-existent.

“This article I recommend is on RT, look for it (...) it's very good. He is a guy with authority because he was head of the UN organization against drugs and crime for years and he has everything that has been done on that subject over the last 40 years and Venezuela doesn't appear there anywhere,” he said during his Con El Mazo Dando No. 546 program.

In the recommended article, Arlacchi rules out the existence of a relationship between the Government of Venezuela and an alleged drug cartel that sends drugs to the United States. In addition, it highlights that this narrative corresponds to a creation of Washington and responds to political motives.
