“Almost 60 attacks on oil installations have been neutralized in recent days,” said Diosdado Cabello Rondón, the sector's vice-president for Politics, Public Security and Peace, during statements to the media this Wednesday.
In this regard, Cabello thanked the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and Petrleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA) for their work in preventing attacks.
“Coincidentally, reviewing this with the PDVSA security management and the impact that would have had internally for Venezuela, we found that at the end of the day they decided to attack an electrical installation in San Felipe, Yaracuy,” he said, and in this regard, he stressed that “the longliners' reaction was to say that this was happening due to lack of maintenance; when you hear a longlineman say this, it's sabotage.”
As part of the investigation, based on the information that was taken from Juan Pablo Guanipa's phone, Cabello assured that they were giving themselves away.
