“It was the years 1817, 1818 and Venezuela was at war against the Spanish Empire,” Cabello said.

This Monday, November 4, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stressed that today the history of Spain of entering arms into Venezuela is being repeated, just as it did in the years 1817 and 1818.

He stressed that “the United States, strangely enough, sent military support to Spain with ships called 'Tigre' and 'Libertad', over the Orinoco they tried to bring weapons, ammunition and explosives”.

“They were American vessels and were confiscated by Venezuela and the United States began the claim against Venezuela, because it committed the audacity of capturing United States ships with weapons for the Spaniards,” he said.

In that regard, he stressed that “this is not the first time they have done it, so that you can see how history repeats itself”.

“It was the years 1817, 1818 and Venezuela was at war against the Spanish Empire,” he said.

Cabello commented that Bolívar tried to ignore the claims “until he couldn't do it anymore and answered him, because they insulted Bolívar in the letters.”

This was stated at the Bolivar Park Convention Center in La Carlota, Miranda state, where he set up the World Anti-Fascist Parliamentary Forum, where he recounted the Liberator Simon Bolivar, in terms of his ideological, political and military clarity.
