The sectoral vice-president for Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, asserted this Saturday that the kingdom of Spain should apologize for the crimes committed 532 years ago against the Native Peoples of America.

“We are not resentful at all, we don't have any resentment, but imperialism should repent, ask the world for forgiveness for the crimes committed, the so-called kingdom of Spain should ask for forgiveness every day,” said Cabello during the commemorative events for the Day of Indigenous Resistance at the National Pantheon in Caracas.

In that regard, he recalled the crimes and abuses committed in our territory with the arrival of the Spaniards, while condemning the campaign that today in the streets of Madrid vindicates the abuse, genocide and looting they carried out against the peoples of America.

“It's imperialist arrogance, it's imperialist evil, it's the arrogance that guides them, but with our humility we threw them out of here, from here our original peoples threw them out and then (Simon) Bolívar finished the task,” he said.
