This Monday, October 28, the first
vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV),
Diosdado Cabello, celebrated three months since the popular victory of the President of the
Republic, Nicolás Maduro, in the presidential elections in the month of July.
“Three months after the revolutionary victory
of July 28, I'm going to my Gallo Nico!” , Cabello said during the PSUV
press conference.
In this regard, he reaffirmed that the great victory
of July 28 “put a brake on fascism, set the bar high for fascism
in Venezuela.” At the same time, he indicated that if the sectors of the
extreme right had won, the country would be subject to “persecution of the militant comrades
and companions of the Revolution.”
In addition, he recalled the regrettable events that occurred on the part of the extreme right in the country that sparked violence, referring to the assassination of female members of the revolutionary militancy and an official of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).
“They murdered more than 20 of those who were
in the demonstrations with assassins, because their idea (the opposition) was
to blame the Bolivarian Revolution, that was the background; so
Venezuela managed to block fascism in this part of our America, while
in other countries like Argentina they are fighting against fascism,” he said.
He reaffirmed that unlike those countries, in Venezuela, “life is given a chance and in our case we give a chance to the possibility that socialism will continue to be and be in force.”
