This Tuesday, April 22, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, confirmed that the electoral campaign for the elections on May 25, “is more street less platform”.
He emphasized that it is “a matter of de-bureaucratizing the campaign”, during his speech at the Teresa Carreño Theater, where the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, led a meeting with candidates from the Great Patriotic Pole Simón Bolívar (GPPSB), running for the next elections of deputies and deputies to the National Assembly (AN).
In that regard, he stated that “although you are candidates for the National Assembly , you are part of a great team, the team of the Bolivarian Revolution. That doesn't just make you the candidates of the Revolution, you are the standard-bearers who are truly the spokespersons of the People of Venezuela.”
For this reason, he pointed out that “beyond locking ourselves in what we have as a very close circle, it is going further, listening, getting into what sometimes no one has gotten into, where it hurts, there we have to go and listen to our people”.
Cabello recalled that the electoral campaign is very short, “it starts on the 29th, the campaign as such, we must take advantage of every space and every moment.”
He explained that during the campaign, “during these visits to the streets and communities, we must meet the people of that street and community.”
“We're not taking people back and forth, just to show the picture. That leaves nothing, it increases costs because you have to move buses, vehicles, transportation, motorcycles whatever, and the biggest cost is that those friends he carries don't let him come and listen to the people,” he stressed.
Cabello said that this type of activity in a street or community “will have much more, greater political value.”
