The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, during the weekly press conference of the red awning, pointed out that the International Criminal Court (ICC) is “something used by imperialism to persecute Peoples, to persecute Governments and to persecute countries.”

The comment of the Minister of Interior Relations, Justice and Peace follows the announcement of Venezuela's withdrawal from this body, to which he added that “the International Criminal Court is rude, its silence in the case of massacres in different parts of the world is rude; it doesn't say anything about the massacre of the Palestinian people, about the genocide against the Palestinian people, it doesn't open its mouth, it hasn't opened its mouth about the massacres that have taken place in the Caribbean and the Pacific”.

He also reiterated that the international standard does not authorize murder to combat drug trafficking, as has happened in the Caribbean, on instructions from the U.S. government, without the ICC having spoken out.
