The Secretary General of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, demanded respect for the country, for the People and for sovereignty, rejecting any form of interference in the nation's internal affairs.

“We will always reject any kind of interference in other countries' internal affairs and we always demand respect for the people of Venezuela, respect for the sovereignty and independence of our peoples,” Cabello said during the Press Conference of the National Directorate of the PSUV.

Cabello said that Venezuela does not interfere in the internal affairs of the United States (USA), a country that is going through its own crises and political debates. “Look, in the United States there are a lot of problems, we don't meddle in their internal affairs. They have their way of doing it, we have ours,” he said.

He recalled that the United States mobilized a fleet with military personnel to the Caribbean with the supposed objective of combating drug trafficking, while pointing out the inconsistency of this action, since only a small percentage of drugs - about 5% - transit that route, while 87% circulate through the Pacific.

The revolutionary leader stressed that, in Venezuela, decisions are taken in consultation with the people, through communal councils, grassroots assemblies and party congresses.

Cabello reiterated that the Bolivarian Revolution, since the arrival of Commander Hugo Chávez, proclaimed its socialist character and carried out the transition to socialism as a unique project in Venezuela. “Just as Bolívar was unique in the union of peoples, we are following the path of transition to socialism, consolidating our own model, independent of external pressures,” he stressed.

Finally, he insisted that Venezuela will continue to reject any attempt at foreign interference and reiterated that the People are capable of deciding their own destiny with democratic and participatory methods, in defense of their independence and sovereignty.
