Caracas City Council celebrates Parish Sports Day 2024

With the objective of celebrating the 2024 Parish Sports Day Award, the Libertador Bolivarian Municipality Council awarded awards to athletes from the 22 parishes of Caracas, in the session room of this institution, in order to recognize community parish sports talent and some athletes for their participation in national and international competitions.
Eliud Baudin, general director of La Fuga, said that they are proud to be recognized by the Caracas City Council, praising the great work that the athletes have been doing. “Here is the group of athletes that represented the country in the 2024 Skateboard World Championship held last month in Italy, consolidating what sports mass is and working to be able to participate in the next Olympic and world championships.”
He also thanked the sponsors and the Ministry for Sports for making it possible to go to the World Cup in Italy and to Daniella Cabello, who has been doing a great job with Marca País working to enhance the country's tourist spaces. “Not all Venezuelans haven't left the country, we are left with young people like these athletes, supporting a country, believing that Venezuela is still a hope. The Escape is being replicated in Anzoátegui, a promotional team in Nueva Esparta and Barinas”.
Jesús Buraglia, a Downhill Skateboarding and Roller Fristyle athlete from Caracas, said that he is super grateful to have represented the country in another country, “it's a source of pride, because we as runners need blanks, to be in different competitions, both national and international, and this experience of being at the Games in Italy marked our lives to move forward and betting on that future of a growing and expanding athlete”.
For his part, the executive director of La Fuga, Eder Blanco, recalled that at some point they dreamed of developing Dawnhill bike tracks “and today they are recognizing for the first time that action sport that they are representing the country and contributing, not only a grain of sand, but we are also planting schools such as the first Montabike School in Caracas”.
Blanco announced that soon a competition will take place on the Caracas-La Guaira highway, with the idea that more action sports will continue to be added, “to continue to expand and contribute to our nation in this generation, which is the great one. The call is for them to join, come and learn about the La Fuga project and dare to flee with us, so that we can bring power to Venezuela and our athletes continue to bring medals.”
Yorber López, president of the Permanent Committee on Sports, Culture and Recreation of the Council of the Libertador Municipality of Caracas, thanked President Nicolás Maduro, who is the main guarantor of the sporting event in the country, and the mayor of the city of Caracas, who has motivated us to develop an ordinance to recognize all the athletes who are in the territory that are part of the massification and today we are doing so through this award
José Luis Tovar, Deputy Minister of Sports Massification of the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports, stressed that “we are accompanying us in this process that recognize the work of the family, the athletes, coaches, their teachers who do every day in the growth of our country, to do the same through sports.
