Carmen Meléndez: In Caracas, there were no negative incidents during the carnivals

During the various recreational and cultural activities that took place in the capital city during the 2024 Carnival celebrations, there were no incidents to regret, said the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez.

“There was a tangana typical of the excitement of carnivals, but it was immediately controlled. I want to thank the FANB, the citizen security agencies and those who they had at the community service points for helping to avoid negative incidents during the carnivals,” said the burgomaster during a contact with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).

In this regard, he indicated that during the carnestolendo holiday, 5 concerts were held in Caracas with a high influx of seasonal workers. In addition, 41 floats, 23 troupes, 14 individual costumes and special guests from different states of the country participated in the parades.

“In Caracas, every square, every park, the Waraira Repano flooded. There was a greater influx of seasonal workers than there was every year. The capital is consolidating itself as one of the country's main tourist destinations,” he emphasized.
