The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, assured that the women and men of this country “are willing to do whatever it takes to defend this homeland.”

At the opening of the exhibition “Three months after the victory of July 28", the mayor stated that “we have the responsibility that those moments experienced after the election of 28J are not repeated”. He added that near the Miraflores Palace there was no space to walk, because the people went out to take to the streets and defend the Revolution from the fascism that was attacking at that time.

“That day we were greeted by the first vice-president of the PSUV, Diosdado Cabello, with our president, protecting the Miraflores Palace. We came out to defend, as in every corner of the country it happened to the Fatherland from fascist attacks carried out by people who went out to kill people for a fee,” he said.

He added that “those moments will not return. On our backs and shoulders is the responsibility that the Fatherland will not fall, the Fatherland defends itself (...) Forgetting is forbidden! Every time we have a contest we will have a victory if we work together as we always do.”
