CELARG extended the invitation to the “Flowers for Bolivar and Gallegos” conference

The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies Rómulo Gallegos (CELARG) invites to the “Flowers for Bolivar and Gallegos” conference, this Friday, December 19, starting at 11:00 a.m.

On this occasion, a bust in honor of the Liberator Simon Bolivar by the artist Valmore Carrero will be unveiled and a new edition of the novel “The Trepadora” by Rómulo Gallegos will be presented, on the 100th anniversary of its original publication in 1925.

“La Trepadora” is a work that explores central themes of Venezuela at the beginning of the 20th century and by renewing its edition, CELARG honors its commitment to the memory of Rómulo Gallegos, the main figure in Venezuelan literature and history.

The literary presentation will be in an informative digital edition, which faithfully rescues the original text after years without new editions.
