CENAL held a reading and writing day at the Pedro Emilio Coll Library

Boys and girls participated in a day of creative reading and writing developed by the National Book Center (CENAL), an entity attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture (MPPC), at the Pedro Emilio Coll Library, as part of the program of the Route of Hope.

According to information from the MPPC, the activity was guided by reading promoters Yerly Herrera and Ana Navas, who promoted a dynamic approach to narrative and poetry through practical exercises. In addition, the participants explored tools for constructing stories based on personal experiences and then collectively created a story about mice.

During the meeting, the children also approached poetry using the strikethrough technique, based on the text Reciclando, by the Colombian writer Piedad Bonnett. With this dynamic, they selected words to build a new version of the poem and share it with the rest of the group.

The day turned the library space into a place of creation and encounter, providing the children's community with tools to strengthen their written expression, stimulate imagination and promote interest in reading.
