The Center for Cultural Diversity Foundation (CDC) celebrated 20 years of experience with the inauguration of the exhibition “Venezuela Living Heritage”, which is exhibited in the spaces of the National Art Gallery (GAN), presenting various cultural manifestations of Venezuela that are Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, declared by UNESCO.

During the inauguration, the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, stressed the importance of overcoming the “absurd borders that divide and weaken our cultures”, stressing that cultural union strengthens national identity and that working for heritage has generated a sense of collective pride.

“No force in the world or beyond will be able to embarrass us of our roots, of our identity,” he said and congratulated the bearers of the heritage for keeping the Venezuelan identity alive, especially in the most difficult moments. “Without you, the patrimonial bearers of our culture, we would have defeated us a while ago,” he said.

For his part, the president of the CDC, Benito Irady, reported that, within the framework of the Great Mission Viva Venezuela, My Beloved Homeland, Christmas demonstrations are planned to be present in Caracas between October and December, so that the inhabitants of the capital can experience these celebrations up close.

In addition, he announced a partnership with the Mayor 's Office of Caracas for the creation of a Center for the Interpretation of Traditional Music and Art.

The event was also attended by cultural heritage bearers from different regions, such as a delegation from the state of Lara that represented Tamunangue, and several manifestations from the state of Miranda, including the San Juan Congo de Curiepe, the San Juan de Santa Lucía, the Bandos and Parrandas of the Holy Innocents of Caucagua, and the Parranda de San Pedro de Guarenas y Guatire.
