This Friday, on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of Lebanon's independence, Ambassador Elías Lebbos, accompanied by the People's Power Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, paid tribute to the sarcophagus of the Liberator Simon Bolivar.

The solemn ceremony took place at the Monumental Complex and Mausoleum of the Liberator, where the Juan José Landaeta marching band performed the hymns of Lebanon and Venezuela.

The Republic of Lebanon was under French rule and achieved independence in 1943, establishing a political system where diverse religious communities live together.
