The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, stressed this Friday that Venezuela is part of the new anti-imperialist world order, and that the country went from resistance to offensive after the victory of President Nicolás Maduro in the elections of last July 28.
During his speech at the Venezuela Vota International Forum, which was held at the Municipal Theater of Caracas, ahead of the regional and legislative elections on May 25, the Foreign Minister stressed that the change in resistance to the offensive was crowned with “the establishment of this period of government 2025-2031. A phase of offensive, a stage where we insert ourselves into the world with the great emerging powers, with the great emerging powers, powers of peace”.
In this regard, he highlighted alliances with the People's Republic of China, the Russian Federation, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, as well as major countries in Africa.
“We are building a new world, entering a new world order that refuses to accept designs from Washington and Western Europe, which try to maintain a decadent order, a failed order of domination and a division of the world, as some have expressed, where Latin America is the backyard of the United States (USA). They want to maintain the division in Africa, the colonial anachronism,” he said.
He stressed that the United States and Europe “do not realize that there is a new world that has already been born, that is already under way, that is unstoppable, that carries a truly amazing force of peoples and of which all of us are part. And it is up to us, precisely, to convene first of all, in our case of Venezuela, of course, to summon the strength of Latin American unity, beyond governments, and this we have proof that it is possible to do so.”
