Chancellor Yván Gil: Fascism vandalizes monument to the Liberator Simon Bolivar in Rome

The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, denounced this Sunday, August 25, the vandalization of the sacred monument, to the Liberator Simon Bolivar, in Monte Sacro, in Rome, by representatives of fascism.

In his account on the social network Telegram, he emphasized that “once again fascism attacks and vandalizes a sacred monument, to the Liberator Simon Bolivar, in Monte Sacro, Rome”.

He stressed that “219 years after that wonderful oath, they are still afraid of the force of the anti-colonial and anti-imperialist spirit that will always triumph in our Peoples.”

“We thank the authorities of the Mayor's Office of Rome for the appropriate steps to protect and recover such important space, a symbol of the struggle for freedom,” he said.
