During Lam's state visit to China, both leaders emphasized the importance of working together to modernize their nations, prioritizing infrastructure connectivity and aligning their development strategies to strengthen bilateral ties.
As part of this meeting, the leaders met with more than 300 young representatives from both countries participating in the “Red Study Trips” program.
This program seeks new generations to explore the revolutionary legacy that underpins friendship between China and Vietnam, encouraging them to actively contribute to strengthening ties of fraternity and mutual understanding.
The cooperation agenda was extended to emerging cutting-edge technological fields. Xi Jinping called for strengthening joint work in key areas such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors and the Internet of Things.
In addition, the launch of the “China-Vietnam Tourism Cooperation Year 2026-2027” was announced, seeking to energize sectors such as culture, education, health and sports.
For his part, To Lam expressed Vietnam's willingness to raise the level of cooperation in economy, trade, investment and railway development. In addition to trade agreements, the need to accelerate collaboration in science, training and defense, as well as to maintain joint efforts for the management of the land border and the preservation of maritime peace in the region, was emphasized.
