China opposes violations of Lebanon's sovereignty and condemns any action against innocent civilians, said a spokesman for the Asian nation's Foreign Ministry.

In this regard, he indicated that his country's Government is concerned about the security of Lebanon because of the recent attacks that Israel has carried out.

He stressed that China urges the parties involved, especially Israel, to take immediate steps to calm the situation and prevent the conflict from escalating or even getting out of control, Xinhua reports.

The Israeli Army assassinated Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasralah, in an attack in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, on September 27. In addition, several of the movement's commanders also died in the onslaught.
