China demands that the United States eliminate reciprocal tariffs

China called on the United States (US) government to completely cancel the imposition of “reciprocal tariffs” and to return to the path of mutual respect and the resolution of differences through equal dialogue.

This was stated by the Minister of Commerce of the Asian nation, He Yadong, during a meeting with the media, following the recent exemption from reciprocal tariffs on electronic products announced by the Donald Trump administration.

The United States published a memorandum exempting certain products from these taxes, including computers, smartphones, equipment for manufacturing semiconductors and integrated circuits; an adjustment in its trade policy.

“We urge the United States to take a big step to correct its mistakes, completely cancel the erroneous practice of reciprocal tariffs and return to the right path of mutual respect,” he added.

He also said that China is now evaluating the impact of tariffs on technological products.
