The Ministry of Commerce noted that the measure responds to actions by Washington that included Chinese companies in the so-called list of Specially Designated Nationals (SDN).

The statement, quoted by Prensa Latina, rejects Washington's sanctions that involve freezing assets and prohibiting transactions, which affect normal business activities with third countries.

He indicated that these actions violate international law and the basic norms of international relations.

Therefore, the portfolio announced an order that prohibits recognizing, executing or complying with the sanctions imposed by the United States against affected companies.

He added that the measure is based on Chinese regulations to counteract the undue extraterritorial application of foreign laws.

He also stated that the government will continue to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens and entities.

The ministry reiterated that China opposes unilateral sanctions without UN authorization or basis in international law.

In recent years, Beijing has intensified legal mechanisms to respond to foreign sanctions, amid trade tensions with the United States and disputes over global energy trade.
