China urged the United States to stop illegal occupation of Cuban territories

The United States needs to stop intimidating and blocking Cuba, return the Cuban people to their lands and remove Cuba from the list of States sponsors of terrorism, the Government of China urged through the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Asian nation, Lin Jian.

In this regard, Lin assured that China firmly supports the Republic of Cuba in its struggle and defense of its sovereignty.

“In recent years, successive U.S. administrations have promised on multiple occasions that they will close detention facilities at Guantánamo Bay, but they have not done so. Despite repeated protests from the Cuban Government, the United States has illegally occupied part of Guantánamo Bay for more than 120 years,” he emphasized.

In this regard, the Chinese diplomats denounced that the North American country violates international law with these actions, while pointing out that Washington has a long negative record in terms of human rights, according to a press release from HispanTV.
