China urges Israel to cease military operations in Gaza

The permanent representative of China to the United Nations (UN), Fu Cong, called on Israel to cease attacks in the Gaza Strip.

“A tragedy like this cannot continue any longer,” Fu emphasized, while noting that 80% of homes in Gaza have been destroyed by constant shelling by the Israeli army.

“Achieving an independent Palestinian state and the implementation of the two-state solution is the only viable way to move towards the political solution of the Israeli-Palestinian question, ” he said.

He warned that with these actions Zionism has intensified the risk spreading throughout the Middle East.

Since October 7, 2023, more than a thousand Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip and 1.9 million people have been displaced.
