Chinese authorities address registered emergency in Sichuan that left 300 people evicted

This Saturday, Chinese authorities activated emergency response efforts to the landslide that occurred in the southwestern province of Sichuan, which left 300 people evicted.

The Ministry of Emergency Management launched a response to level III geological catastrophes, while China's National Commission for Disaster Prevention, Reduction and Relief has activated a national response to level IV disasters, international press reported.

The accident occurred around 11:50am in the town of Jinping, located in the Junlian district of the city of Yibin, burying 10 houses and leaving more than 30 people missing.

In response to the landslide, ministry officials led a working group sent to the scene to guide rescue operations. More than 400 people, 100 vehicles and 75 sets of equipment have been mobilized to carry out rescue operations on the ground.

China has a four-level emergency disaster response system , with level IV being the lowest and level I the most serious.
