To the rhythm of parties, aguinaldos, bagpipes,
verses and traditional events, the Christmas Proclamation resounded in the Plaza de La Juventud de Bellas Artes, in Caracas, with the
participation of important figures of music and national culture.
The poet Neguel Machado served as principal
crier, with verses celebrating the joy of the Venezuelan holiday season and the national
traditions surrounding Christmas.
After the declamation, Machado welcomed Omar Lista, who performed
the bonus prayer with Lilia Vera, Cecilia Todd, Francisco Pacheco, Amaranta Pérez, Luisana Pérez and Fabiola José.
This group of singers captivated the public
with a varied and rich repertoire of Christmas rhythms that identify several regions of the national geography.
Songs such as “December Moon”, “Under the Moon
of Otilio”, “The Shark” and unreleased songs made those present sing and dance.
The interpretation of Christmas music
continued by the Polyphonic Adelis Freitez, followed by the Laughing Voices of Carayaca who played parties and aguinaldos in
honor of the baby Jesus. The
group took the opportunity to highlight its work in training boys
and girls, and in transmitting Christmas traditions to new generations.
In addition, he extended to those present his wishes for a Christmas full
of brotherhood, peace and family union.
The holiday was enriched with a diverse range of cultural events that included the Giros of San
Benito in the Andean region, the Locos and Locainas in Portuguesa, The
shark dance of the eastern region, the Bandos and Parrandas of the Holy Innocents
in Caucagua and the
Ensamble Viva Venezuela, music and dance.
The Christmas Day Proclamation is an initiative of the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture (MPPC), promoted through the Great Mission Viva Venezuela Mi Patria Querida, as a sign of its firm commitment to the dissemination and preservation of Venezuelan cultural identity.
