CICPC seized more than 300 kilograms of drugs and explosive devices in Bolivar

Members of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC), attached to the Directorate of Drug Investigations, were able to seize 284 packages, containing more than 300 kilograms of narcotic substances, in the state of Bolivar.

According to information issued by the Ministry of People's Power for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace (MPPRIJP), the incident took place when the investigations were carrying out field investigations on the Puerto Páez-Caicara highway, at which point they spotted several armed individuals, who, upon noticing the police presence, carried out several shots fired, then fleeing into a wooded area.


In the mugar, 86 cocaine wrappers weighing 96.265 kg, as well as 198 marijuana wrappers weighing 204 kg, were found under waterproof tarps.

In addition, 10 suspected explosive devices such as rudimentary
mines, four directional types, three cylindrical orange devices and 32 detonators were seized.
