Under the motto: The story that moves the screen, the second edition of the Venezuelan Film Festival: Memory and Heritage will be held from November 1 to 9 at the Cinemateca Hall of the Museum of Fine Arts, located in Caracas.
This event is consolidated as the main space for exhibiting the richness of the national cinematographic heritage, in addition to reaffirming the commitment to the preservation and dissemination of the Venezuelan film collection.
For nine days, the public will enjoy more than 77 works in total, including six classic and restored films, guarded by the Film Archive, in addition to 12 historical news programs.
The competitive exhibition includes 59 works of Contemporary Cinema, which will compete for the coveted La Araya de Oro Award in six categories, from short fiction films to feature-length documentaries.
For this edition, the exhibition circuit expands significantly to integrate other spaces such as the Celarg Room, San Carlos Room and the Itinerant Cinema in Caracas, Portuguesa and Maracaibo. In addition, the Festival will pay tribute to five emblematic figures: Maite Galán, Asdrúbal Meléndez, Luis Alberto Lamata, Viveca Baiz and César Cortéz.
