Close to 90% of Danes oppose the US taking over Greenland

A survey conducted by the analysis institute Voxmeter for the Ritzau news agency revealed that nine out of ten Danes believe that their country should not give up the island of Greenland.


For the study, which was carried out between January 6 and 7, more than a thousand people over 18 years of age participated, in which it was possible to detail that 89.2% of those interviewed responded negatively to the desire of the president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, to acquire Greenland, according to a press release from the news agency RT.


Last December, Trump declared that it is “an absolute necessity” for the Danish island to be part of U.S. territory.
